You know this…What three people, living or dead, would you like to dine with? Well my list would always include my husband. With whom else will you rehash such an amazing night! My guest list changes with the wind, but here is one scenario of late: Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. Yes the judges of American Idol. Sorry Ryan Seacrest, you don’t make the cut. Why these three? I believe it’s obvious, but can you say EYE CANDY? And they are all funny, which is a mandatory component in my dinner party invites.
Critical is selecting a good sound track. And since I’m not in their league, music-wise, I’d have to go eclectic. A mix of genres and artists that keeps everyone wondering, “What’s next?” Lively at first for hors d’oeuvres, and then taking a slow curve as dinner approaches.

Ambiance: Flattering low lighting, a fire in the fireplace, and a table that sets the mood for easy and yummy. I like a cozy table, great for conversation. And if I have these three for dinner, the last place I want to be is in my kitchen, so I choose a meal that is in the oven, ready to make its debut on demand. Tonight I serve a roast chicken, in the French provincial style: lemon, garlic, fresh herbs, surrounded by roasted rosemary potatoes. Roasted veggies with fresh thyme are also giving the chicken a hug in the oven.
Why this menu? These celebrities have traveled the world, eating in some of the best Michelin star restaurants. But my home is my home, and love and hospitality are always on the menu. Effortless good company, and food cooked from scratch with love never goes out of style.

Of course serve a wonderful wine with dinner, hot dark-roast coffee after and a small bit of decadence for dessert. Make it easy on yourself and pick up something wonderful from your local bakery. Remember your guests take their cue from you, so if you are relaxed and having fun, they will be too. There is nothing better than good food, old friends, new friends, and a warm place to enjoy it all. Give thanks!

Love the idea, but without the work? I’m a personal chef and award winning event designer. Let me do the work in your home, while you are a guest at your own party! Linda 952.201.7111 GuestStar!
